The day I arrived in SF 5 years ago, I had the most traumatizing event of my life occur: a home invasion on the first day where a fraud "painter" I hired tried to claim residency lawfully in my apartment by switching the PGE bill into his name. I came back early to SF from NYC where I sold my stuff. It had been 27 days and the law for residency requires 28 days. When I discovered what nightmare had happened, I called the SFPD. The two female officers arrived were curt with me and said "sir, this is April 20, Marijuana Celebration Day, and we have 10000 people running around on acid, mushrooms and everything else today, and we don't have resources to help with your little problem. So compromise is: he stays here tonight, and call back the SFPD tomorrow to get it resolved." But I protested that if he stayed the night, he WOULD have the necessary 28 days. She looked at me sternly and said "The SFPD will take care of this tomorrow. He stays here tonight." The next day of course, the SFPD told me he had 28 days and could stay in my apartment indefinitely until I got a private lawyer to evict him. That single event cost me everything I had worked for in my life. I am fully disabled now because I became repeatedly targeted by theft and violence, having my face beat in with guns in front of the apartment blinding my left eye. The Park Station personnel, starting with Captain Bailey who will not even answer over a dozen emails, or acknowledge that she even received them, are utterly negligent, have not only not provided me with any sense of safety but have actually gone out of their way to put me more in harm's way after interaction with them than I was before. They have ridiculed me, accused me, ignored me, put me in harm's way, and not even the Police Accountability group nor the Chief Will Scott will follow up with me for over four months. I have met every low life scumbag in SF yet the response and treatment by the SFPD left me completely traumatized with agoraphobia and panic attacks, and now out of my career as a doctor. And don't get me started on the corruption with the Park Station, who allow an illicit drug manufacturer to operate within a block of a school and hospital. They are useless and best thing to do is never call them or be in a position to need any of their help
